ORNL's TeraGrid

Overview

The TeraGrid project was launched by the National Science Foundation in August 2001. It currently includes eight partners: the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) at the University of California, San Diego, Argonne National Laboratory in Argonne, IL, the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Oak Ridge, TN, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, Indiana University, Bloomington, and the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) at The University of Texas at Austin.

ORNL is bringing neutron science to the TeraGrid through portal-based access to the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) and the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS).
